The Arts Park, built at a cost of over $18 million, represents the cultural hub for the City of Hollywood, located downtown at the historic Young Circle.  The City, in conjunction with its Community Redevelopment Agency, Broward County, and architectural staff, selected Shade Systems after carefully considering other shade companies.

The dramatically designed colorful Sails were installed over seating areas and the water play court shown, with the dual purpose of providing much-needed protection from the damaging effects of sun exposure, as well as making an aesthetically-pleasing architectural statement which blends with the City of Hollywood’s vision for this high-profile site.

In the interest of public safety, the City of Hollywood’s Parks Department has an ongoing program of providing shade in public areas to reduce the occurrence of dangerous sun exposure for its residents.   Numerous other City of Hollywood sites have received Shade Systems products over the past 12 months, much to the satisfaction of City staff as well as local residents who reap the benefits of cool shade in outdoor public places.
