Shade Systems provides 'Sails' for SoBe's Douglas Park
PRESS RELEASEFor immediate publication Ocala, Florida - September 4, 2007 - Shade Systems is proud to announce it has recently provided a custom 'Sail' shade system at the City of Miami Beach's Marjorie Stoneman Douglas park, located right in the heart of trendy South Beach just steps away from the lapping waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Covering over 1,500 square feet, the artfully-designed Sails form a whimsical "pinwheel" design to shield children and parents at the playground from up to 99% of the sun's dangerous U.V. rays in cool comfort. Miami Beach chose Shade Systems for this high-profile project because of our uncompromising quality standards and reputation for competent design and engineering. Kevin Smith, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City, was responsible for the selection of Shade Systems for this important project, in conjunction with input from residents who participated in determining the final design and appearance of the Sails. The Parks Department staff has an ongoing program of providing shade in public areas to reduce the occurrence of dangerous sun exposure for its residents. Other City of Miami Beach sites which have received Shade Systems products this year include Muss Park, Palm Island Park, and Normandy Isles Pool; North Shore Open Spaces is scheduled to receive its Shade Systems products this quarter.
